On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-France diplomatic relations and the 10th anniversary of their strategic partnership (1973 - 2023), the People's Committee of Hội An city, in collaboration with the Vietnamese Cultural Centre in France, organize the event “Hội An Cultural Days in Paris” to promote the culture and tourism of Hội An, Vietnam to the French people, the Vietnamese community in France, and tourists.
The event will take place on August 29 and 30, 2023 at the Vietnamese Cultural Centre in France (No. 19 Albert street, Paris) and include a variety of activities that promise to provide audiences with fascinating experiences.
Activities such as the introduction of tourist information, the display of lanterns, handicraft products made from driftwood, etc. will begin between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. Here, the organizers will provide information about the history, culture, destinations, discovery and entertainment programs; as well as introduce Hội An, its traditional craft villages, and its beautiful, talented and creative locals.
From 7 p.m. and 9 p.m, the audience will enjoy an art performance program bearing the colors of the indigenous culture of Hội An and Quảng Nam, including traditional musical instrument performance, folk song performance, ancient Hội An costume show, Bài Chòi folk game, community activities, etc. The artists will tell emotional stories about a poetic and nostalgic Hội An, which will surely captivate expatriates and those who have never been to Hội An.
For the first time in Paris, Hội An will selectively introduce typical handicraft products as well as identity folk art programs. This is also the field of Crafts and Folk Art that Hội An has chosen to apply for membership in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in 2023.
The event “Hội An Cultural Days in Paris” is expected to spread the image of culture, nature and people in Hội An, Vietnam to international friends; strengthen exchanges and solidarity; promote love of the homeland among the Vietnamese community in France; and contribute to the development of the friendly and diplomatic relations between Vietnam and France.
