The 9th Cẩm Hà Kumquat Festival 2025

 

Hội An ancient town has a long cultural history with traditional crafts and craft villages that effectively preserved and promoted.

Especially, since Hội An became a member of UNESCO Creative City Network in the field of Crafts and Folk Art, new opportunities have increased for the preservation and development its traditional crafts.

Cẩm Hà Kumquat Festival is annual event in Hội An city. In the event, introduction of kumquat tree and kumquat products are introduced, promoted as well as widely spread to the people; contributing to honor long-standing kumquat growing in this area, creating motivation for citizens and increasing incomes. According to statistics, in 2024, Cẩm Hà commune has 283 households taking part in kumquat growing on 65 hecta, 71,000 kumquat trees, about 48 billion VND revenue.This contributes significantly to the local economy and enhances the quality of life for the community.

This year, “The 9th Cẩm Hà Kumquat Festival 2025” will be organized on Jan 9-10, 2025 at Trảng Kèo residential area, Cẩm Hà commune, Hội An city with a lot of interesting activities for both the locals and tourists to enjoy and experience.

The Opening Ceremony will be held at 17:00 on Jan 9th, 2025 featuring vibrant performances such as Art program, Lion dance, Launching Ceremony of “Vietnamese people use Vietnamese Goods”, Demonstration of provine, shaping, display beautiful kumquat trees and kumquat products, etc… The residents and visitors also enjoy unique ornamental kumquat trees and products made from kumquats, visit fair-market booths, OCOP products and agriculture products, Bài Chòi traditional folk game.

On Jan 10th, a variety activities will be held, including: A contest of jigsaw from kumquat; Ringing the golden bell; Food Market “Flavors of the ancient town”; A singing contest of Bolero “Melody of homeland”, etc…

Blessed with fertile soil ideal for kumquat cultivation, along with the skill, creativity, and dedication of artisans and craftsmen, Cẩm Hà ward has produced ornamental kumquat trees with unique shapes and vibrant colors. These trees are a symbol of prosperity and hope for a new year filled with joy and success, supplying the Hội An market and surrounding localities with fresh green foliages and golden fruits.

The 9th Cẩm Hà Kumquat Festival 2025 will continue to introduce the unique products of Cẩm Hà ward; supporting local farmers and honoring the kumquat growing cultivation craft. It also brings new opportunities for the kumquat growing and the other traditional crafts in Hội an – UNESCO’s Creative City.
