Hội An promoting folk art in Southern Vietnam

In 2023, on the occasion of the 203rd death anniversary of Đỗ Công Tường and his wife in Cao Lãnh city, Đồng Tháp province; Hoi An city is invited by Cao Lãnh city to perform at this year's festival. Many special performances imbued with Hội An's culture, such as Bài Chòi and folk songs, contribute to the success of the event. This is also an opportunity to propagate and introduce Hội An folk art to Vietnam's southern provinces.

This year's festival, which takes place from July 24 to 27, 2023 at the Cao Lãnh market area, focuses on many cultural events that attract domestic and international tourists, such as the countryside cultural space, calligraphy activities, and the re-enactment of the tangerine garden market. Additionally, there are activities to promote and connect regional tourism and culture. The close relationship between Hội An and Cao Lãnh is further enhanced as a result of this occasion.

While Hội An applies to join the UNESCO Creative Cities Network, this performance tour in Southern Vietnam is living proof of the regional cultural exchange in culture and folklore between Hội An and other lands.

Crafts and Folk Art in Hội An may be concluded to be not only in the local area, but also the exchange, absorption, learning, and refinement of the good things of other lands to make a creative Hội An in various fields, the most prominent of which is the creative field of Crafts and Folk Art.
