Hội An engages in an in-depth discussion on the creative city with the Assistant Director-General for Culture of UNESCO.

The Hoi An city task force had a working session with Mr. Ernesto Ottone - Assistant Director-General for Culture of UNESCO; Ms. Denise Bax - Secretary of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network; and Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Huong - UNESCO cultural expert, UNESCO Office in Hanoi.

The parties discussed strategic directions and implementation solutions related to Hoi An's commitments as a member of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network.

Mr. Ernesto Ottone highly praised Hoi An's correct orientation of leveraging cultural heritage values as the foundation for development, fostering creativity based on preserving and promoting World Cultural Heritage, acknowledging Hoi An’s determination, strong actions, and active participation in network activities. He emphasized the need to mobilize community strengths to engage in creative activities to create additional value for Hoi An craft and folk art city.
