Minh Hương Communal house which is located at 14 Trần Phú Street - Hội An, also known as the Temple of Minh Hương sage, is a religious architecture built by Minh Hương people to worship the ancestors who founded Minh Hương village, one of the ancient villages in Hội An associated with the migration of Chinese community into Hội An in the 17th century.
According to many sources, the monument was built around the end of 1725 and has undergone many restorations. In 1905, it was moved to its current location. The work is built in the style of the word 国 (guó) in Chinese , facing the south with an architectural style elaborately crafted by the skillful hands of Kim Bong carpentry village artisans.
Nowadays, the communal house still retains its old appearance with many wooden details and yin and yang tiled roof. The main hall consists of 3 prominent altars with a system of intricately carved and gilded incense tables, in front of which there is a gilded horizontal board carved 5 words "Minh Huong Tuy Tien Duong" in Chinese. Not only a tourist attraction, Minh Huong Communal house is also a typical relic associated with the history of formation and development of Hoi An commercial port.
