Hội An opened the exhibition space "Artistic and Creative path" for the first time

The event "Artistic and Creative path" was held for the first time in Hội An at 5 p.m. on December 28, 2022. This is a part of the Visit Vietnam Year - Quảng Nam 2022 and the Start-up Vietnam Year 2023.

Thanh Hà pottery exhibition space

From December 28, 2022 to February 8, 2023, the event "Artistic and Creative Path" unites all the highly creative works of the artists and artisans from Hội An's traditional occupation villages. This is the first time that artisans are formally recognized for their contributions to the development of handicraft products with unique values and traditional culture. This is also a practical and functional "playground" to excite young talents and local art enthusiasts.

Demonstration of Kim Bồng carpentry

There is a spot in An Hội sculpture garden along the Hoài river to display artworks made from recycled materials such as wood, firewood, clay, bamboo paintings, fabrics,... All handicrafts are demonstrated directly to the audience, providing a vibrant and exciting product-making process. Thanh Hà pottery, Kim Bồng carpentry, bamboo root-carving, drawing on coconut paper, works made from firewood... all contribute to a vibrant space of artistic creation based on traditional cultural values; towards environmental protection, green tourism, and sustainable development of Hội An.

The event "Artistic and creative path" affirms Hội An's position in the international creative industry network. Despite its small size, this land has a constant flow of creative energy from the past, present, and future. In Hội An, traditional occupation villages and creative spaces have small and medium scales but highly useful values, such as creating appealing cultural and tourism products and leaving an impression in the hearts of locals, as well as domestic and international tourists. This is also the distinctive feature of the locality.

“Hội An's towards a creative city is more than simply a title, it is a commitment by Hội An to evolve from a heritage city to a creative city, allowing Hội An to grow more and more sustainably in the future.”, said Mr. Nguyễn Văn Lanh, Vice Chairman of Hội An City People's Committee.

The "Artistic and Creative path"

Hội An may have a larger-scale "creative path" in the near future. That is the city's orientation on its journey to join the “UNESCO Creative Cities Network”, so that the source of creativity in this land might continue to spread and develop.
